Featherstone Difference Built on years of trust and successful projects with Ball Horticultural Company, Featherstone was engaged at the start of the programming and conceptual design phase to help guide the owner’s staff and design team in developing definable and quantifiable needs of the new facility along with the most modern technology. Featherstone’s staff developed multiple cost opinions and phasing strategies for each of the concept designs to allow Ball’s staff and their board to make informed decisions on how best to advance the project design prior to costly design services and loss of time. Special care was given to maintain Ball’s extensive seed distribution operation with the recommended fast track project approach to target moves between the developed three phases of construction during Ball’s slower season to allow for redundant operations as a failsafe between shifting from the existing facility into the new fully animated addition, the work on the renovation of the existing building will advance in the two remaining phases.
